About this job
Digital Director
Voting Rights Lab
Location: Remote, U.S.-based
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Reporting to: Managing Director, Communications
Managing: N/A
Travel: Occasional, up to 10% of the time
Role Overview
Voting Rights Lab, a national nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization, and its 501(c)(4) affiliate are fighting the state-level battles that will shape elections in 2026, 2028, and for decades to come. In 2025 alone, we stopped a wave of proof-of-citizenship mandates in red and purple states from Texas to Michigan and produced the first-ever map of election law vulnerabilities — showing where losing candidates can exploit state laws to challenge legitimate results. Grounded in deep state-level relationships and cross-ideological credibility, we anticipate threats and deliver solutions where democracy is most at risk.
As the Digital Director, you will develop and manage the organization’s growing online presence, including websites, social media platforms, digital products, and paid and organic digital campaigns. You will also play a core role in Voting Rights Lab’s work to build a firewall around our elections by translating deep audience research into innovative paid and organic content strategies. Finally, you will shape the organization’s social and online editorial strategy and help the organization build the next iteration of digital research products relied on by national and state media and the pro-democracy movement.
This position is housed within the Communications Department. You will bring exceptional strategic thinking, writing, and editorial skills, a strong understanding of digital platforms and trends, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to produce engaging digital content in a fast-paced environment.
Voting Rights Lab is a fully remote organization, and this position can be based anywhere in the United States. We offer a collaborative and innovative work environment, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional advancement.
